About This Protocol

ARA-290 is a synthetic 11-amino acid peptide derived from the helix B region of erythropoietin. Unlike erythropoietin itself, ARA-290 is a non-erythropoietic compound — it does not affect red blood cell production. Instead it selectively activates the innate repair receptor (IRR), a tissue-protection pathway studied for nerve regeneration and anti-inflammatory signaling.

Available through TeleWellnessMD® licensed physicians in select states. The physician evaluates each patient individually and determines medical necessity.

Innate Repair Receptor (IRR)
ARA-290 selectively binds the innate repair receptor — a heterodimer distinct from the classical erythropoietin receptor. IRR activation triggers tissue-protective and anti-inflammatory signaling cascades without the erythropoietic effects of erythropoietin.
Neuroprotective Research
Research has examined ARA-290 in the context of small fiber neuropathy and nerve regeneration. Studies have looked at its potential effects on nerve fiber density and pain signaling in peripheral nerve tissue.
Anti-Inflammatory Signaling
IRR activation by ARA-290 has been studied for its effects on inflammatory cytokine production. Research has examined reductions in TNF-alpha and IL-6 in preclinical models following ARA-290 administration.
Non-Erythropoietic
The separation of tissue-protective effects from red blood cell stimulation is the key pharmacological feature of ARA-290. This allows potential use without the cardiovascular risks associated with erythropoietin's hematopoietic effects.
